A message from Lucy!

Hello everyone!

I'm Lucy, and I'm a vocalist for Half Peeled Orange. (ha, I can't even take myself seriously when I type that out.) I am so excited about this trip we are taking to Ireland, and I wanted to share a little bit about what God's been speaking to me about it.

The truth of the matter is that God has called this group of people to go to Northern Ireland. Honestly, I don't know what to expect, but I know that, because He has called us there, He will be working. And I cannot wait to meet the beautiful extension of God's church in Northern Ireland. Incredible! I have a hard time believing that it is actually happening!

Honestly, the biggest thing I've been sensing from God is the importance of us, as worship leaders,  embracing the spirit of humility. None of this is about us. We are all instruments in the grand orchestra that God is conducting. It's about the Kingdom of God coming on earth. Oh, how I long for that! When hearts will be healed. When pain will be eased. When all that we do is defined by the Agape love of Christ.

More than anything, I pray that God would use us to simply love the people we encounter, that we would be open to the work He is doing in our own hearts, not just in the hearts of the people there. And I pray that God would use us to further His Kingdom on earth.

And I believe He will.

Will you join me in praying the Prayer of St. Francis for our team? It truly embodies what God has for us, I think.

Lord, make us an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt,  faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy!

Oh, Divine Master, grant that we may

Not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it's in giving that we receive.
And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it's in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

--St. Francis of Assisi

Would you also pray about donating to our trip? It's going to cost around $2500 for each person, and, Lord knows, none of us has that. :) We're just trusting God to provide. You can make checks out to New Hope International Ministries and send them to:

Almost St. Patrick's Day Fundraiser Concert

At practice tonight we discovered that we are only ten days away from our fundraiser concert... Everything is happening so quickly!

Please help us raise money for our trip by promoting this concert! Share it with your friends, join the Facebook event, and come support us on March 10th in the Grille!

Also please be praying that this event goes smoothly and that we surrender the whole night to God. We are hoping for a great turn out!

Tickets will be sold outside the caf March 6, 7, and 10, as well as at the door the night of the concert.

If you are interested in helping with this event, we need baked goods! We are having a bake sale and are in dire need of people to bake and bring cookies, brownies, and anything else you feel like baking!

See you March 10th!
Love and blessings,
Kat

Meet the Band!

Happy Thursday! We're so glad you're checking out our blog!

We had a great time last night in The Loft rehearsing and worshipping together, as well as recording some shots and audio for our video! For those of you who don't know the entire band, here we are:

Left to right: Kat, keys; Emily, violin; Becca, bass; Lucy, vocals;
Matt, drums; Emily, vocals; Micah, leader; Brandon, electric
Our very own Sarah McDonald took these lovely pictures, as well as the videos shot last night, and we had a friend come in to record sound. Final product to come!

In the meantime, enjoy some pictures of us! (:

Emily and Micah
Last night we also had the privilege of hanging out with Becca, a recent Asbury grad who is currently living in Belfast, Ireland. She told us a lot about the culture in Ireland and gave us some great tips to keep in mind as we prepare our hearts for this trip. (Oh, and she also played bass guitar in the band!) Thanks so much, Becca!

This week, please be praying for us to have ears to hear. We all know that God is speaking to us about this trip, and we are all very eager to listen to what he has to say. We appreciate you keeping us in your prayers!

Check back soon for more updates. (:

Love and blessings,
Kat

Welcome!

Welcome to our blog! We are so thrilled that you are supporting us on this journey!

Today we are 84 days away from leaving for Northern Ireland, and we are so excited to see how God is already moving this trip along! We will be recording a promotional video tonight and posting it here very soon so you all can learn a little more about us.

We hope for this blog to be a resource for our partners in ministry to utilize. We will be posting band member profiles, updates, and prayer requests here for you all.

If you have already sent us financial support or are praying for us, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Every ounce of support helps us so incredibly much and gets us closer to our final goal.

If you have not yet joined us as partners for this mission trip, we would like to extend an invitation to you to join us now! We are in desperate need of partners in this ministry. If you would like to join us, first and foremost we ask you to pray for this trip and all that God is planning to do through it. If you are able or willing to take the next step, we would love for you to give to this ministry. You can make checks out to New Hope International Ministries and send them to:
